New York/Denver artist Daego Gold makes his first appearance on our page with his brand new project, “I’ve Got A Lot To Say.” At 10 tracks, this project is a vibey collection of songs. The production matches his style in a way that’s unique. Taking the sound into consideration, this project has a trap soul/hip-hop mix to it.
Throughout this body of work, Daego talks about; his problems with the world and how people act, battling his own demons, all while giving you a look into some of his stories, much like the loss of his grandfather and sister. Aside from the personal records, there are about 3 more “turn up” type of records to make sure you can play this in any type of setting. All in all, this is a project you light a blunt and sit back and listen too, but could also play at a house party or club.
With only 2 features on the project, Tripper Jones does a nice job of assisting Daego on what we’d call the best track on the project, “Peter Piper.” Produced by ProBeats, both artists bring the same energy and deliver nicely on the bouncy instrumental making for a cohesive listen.
Overall, Daego delivers a nice sounding body of work that can be enjoyed from top to bottom. As artists grow and become more comfortable not only in their body but also more confident in the art they’re putting forth, they deliver these next level projects that show just what they’re capable of. “I’ve Got A Lot To Say” is one of those albums that will be enjoyed for months to come.
