After Patiently Preparing His Craft, Les Paul Drops His Debut Project – Jive Turkey

An impassioned Emcee in the local Kansas City scene, Les Paul is about to release a slew of material that will boost both his growth, and creativity since the release of his two singles Astrolove (Produced by Elias Abid) and Kick Rocks (Produced by BrandUn DeShay.)

Born in Kansas City, Mo. Lester Paul Jr is an artist inspired by those who come before him. Honoring the root of classic hip hop with a gritty, yet a positive twist of his surroundings. Paul is an experienced artist with uninhibited ambition & wide eyes. In comparison to other mid-major cities, the Kansas City hip-hop scene is still rather young and burgeoning. Amongst the list of talented performers who have hailed from the land of the waving wheat, the Midwestern Mecca for all things Jazz has slowly developed a reputation for the caliber of Emcees it helped to develop.

“Jive turkey was me shedding my skin, and nervousness, as an artist. In the past, I let my insecurities hold me back from obtaining the initial sound  I’m headed towards.”

Today, Les Paul makes his first appearance on our page with his latest project “Jive Turkey.” Composed of 15 tracks, the project contains a more unique sound that allows listeners to familiarize themselves with Les. With an array of production credits, each track differs in the level of energy brought forth, while in its entirety, the project consists of this monotone style that Les builds his lyrical delivery around. The 5 features on this body of work are presented in a way that elevates the project. Some of the notable ones are Mickey Factz, and Sir Michael Rocks of TheCoolKids who each bring their own style and impeccable lyrical presence.

Fun Fact: “I play magic the gathering, professional! Like I’m ill with card games, and I’m probably the top TEKKEN, smash bro’s & fighting game expert.” Les Paul

On the production end of things, Les shows just how versatile he can be. Various production styles come into play as the body of work progresses and the listener makes their way down. This allows Les to branch out and apply a more cohesive sound. Overall, for those who are unfamiliar with Les, this project plays as a great introduction piece and shows the elite level of content coming out of Kansas City, Mo.
