Coming off the release of Amare Symoné’s debut solo effort, GlassWindows EP, and Musa Reems’ first EP, Another Dos(e), they decided to become a tag team and come together to form a group, theinjuredparty. Incorporating styles of neo-soul, hip hop, jazz, and more, we created a project that has multiple re-occurring themes. Throughout the project we have included topics such as millennial love, heartbreak, wanting to live forever, and the beauty of our hometowns: Brooklyn and Chicago. The EP is four songs, and 13 minutes in length; it holds production from Austin, TX producers, JXHNSCXTT and Curbside Jones. Standout tracks like “Evaporate” and “Live Foreva” show our versatility, and our songwriting skills. A documentary of the creative process was created during the sessions, and it was shot and edited by Nick Visuals. These songs and the creation of our group also serve as an introduction to us as a musical pair and a precursor to our upcoming solo projects (Musa Reems – Where The Sun Never Rises and Amare Symoné – TBA).
