Abhi the Nomad Finds Personal Excellence on New Album ‘Modern Trash’

Austin, TX upstart Abhi the Nomad delivers his much-anticipated second album, Modern Trash. 3-tracks short of his debut album Marbled, this new offering expresses the artists growth over the short timespan.

At 9-tracks in length and a little 28-minutes in streaming, in my option what makes this project so compelling is its track placement and the awareness and cohesion that was put into it. Throughout the album, Abhi’s production choice isn’t linear by any sense, but then again neither are his rhyme schemes which drives the body of work. There’s this overarching sense of blue-collared normality to his music. “Jungle” is a good example, where he describes failure from multiple perspectives.

Whether he’s triumphant or troubled, punctuating or peaceful, Modern Trash is Abhi the Nomad show. He remains in the driver’s seat despite impressive turns by Harrison Sands (“House of Clocks”), Foster Cazz (“Beautiful”) and Sol (“Modern Boi’), Abhi’s assertiveness makes for yet another solid entry in his catalog.
