Best New Songs This Week: Khary, HeyDeon, KALLITECHNIS, and Lakewude

Every week we wait patiently for that fresh batch of new tunes from our favorite fast-rising acts. Whether it’s Khary or HeyDeon, KALLITECHNIS, or Lakewude, we all want to dig in and get our dose of brand new music. Here are this week’s picks for the best new songs.

With his new album slated to drop on March 25th, Khary gives us a first listen to what we can expect. His newly released single ‘Fembrook Dr.’ continues building off his impressive alt-rap sound. Clocking in a little under 3-minutes, Khary floats over the smooth sonics on ‘Fembrook Dr.’ with captivating lyrics and lush melodies that will have you glued from start to finish. As we wait for the album, give this one a spin and keep the budding artist on your radar.

Eastside Long Beach, CA, artist HeyDeon is back with a dope new single entitled, ‘RUNNIN,’ and it might be his best release yet. Although the production is exceptional sonically, his vocal performance and hook are captivating. The smooth R&B cut plays to HeyDeon’s strengths perfectly, and the songwriting is raw and has a personal touch that anyone can relate to.

If you haven’t peeped some of the music coming out of Canada, specifically Montreal, I suggest you do so soon. Montréal, Québec’s KALLITECHNIS, is a soulful R&B singer who should be on everyone’s radar. Her latest EP, ‘IT’S NOT PERSONAL,’ is jam-packed with banger after banger, and the smooth, lush instrumentals throughout the whole EP are what’s so captivating to me. Check out ‘HAPPY OR RIGHT’ below.

Lakewude draws inspiration from a number of early influences ranging from Tyler, The Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and much more, which helped craft his own unique sound. While we’ve heard standout records from Lakewude before, ‘BBL,’ may be the record that takes the cake as he shines in a way that I’ve not seen before.
