The season of spooky tidings is among us and Las Vegas artist ChiefDVB has blessed the world with another project that fits right in. Though its exterior is a clever and amusing tribute to the Harry Potter films, hitting home to anyone who enjoyed the series, between the lyrics hides a deeper message, about life and inner demons.
“The best defense against the Dark Artz starts from within!” The eerie and ominous production was executed very finely by G. Reed, setting the scene swimmingly for each song. With the exception of a beautiful and delicate feature from Leeves, on the track “Emerald Lillyz,” not only did ChiefDVB write and perform the entire project, but he mixed and mastered it, as well, through his organization, Mindful Matterz.
The clean and chilling art direction for “The Dark Artz” was brought to life by Keene Dadian—one look at the album cover and you’re immediately transported into the world ChiefDVB imagined.
