Following a series of successful releases such as “Champion Song,” “Cherry Blossom,” and “Finer Things,” Clark D has been on an upward trajectory, solidifying his position as a rising star. “It’s a Stickup!” serves as the final single from his highly anticipated upcoming album CLARKDPROPAGANDA, his second solo project within a year. The album is set to feature collaborations with other talented artists such as Latrell James, Stefan Thev, and more.
“This album is special. I feel like it’s going to change my life. After I dropped my last joint, I came up with a list of releases I wanted to do for 2023. I wanted to explore the idea of propaganda for a while because I always feel like I go to war to protect my artistic integrity/identity daily. I feel like this project plays into that. I feel like it’s a cultural/spiritual war going on right now, and someone needs to put up a fight. That’s kind of what inspired the direction of it. It came together naturally, though. After I did my headlining show in Atlanta, I was like, ‘Yeah, I need to drop this project.’ So I took some ideas from this other album I was working on, cooked up a few new joints, and put it all together for this one. It came together well.”
