Connis Steps Into the Next Chapter of His Life With New Album ‘Somebody’

Now based out of New Orleans, Connis carries Cambridge, Massachusetts with him wherever he goes. He first made his way onto our outlet following the release of a moving tribute EP to his late friend Rizzo Rackz entitled Waited All Summer For The Weekend, and now he returns with his new album Somebody. At 14-songs, Connis’ soothing raps create immense replay value, forcing you to run this one back a few times. Previously released singles like SPF 30Salt, and the Radamiz-assisted song Too Many help set the tone for the album.

Taking a look at Somebody as a whole, each song off the album works perfectly as a standalone track while still retaining an overall sense of cohesion. With features from Gogo. Soap.Wav, FELIX!, Blue Mena, Latrell James, and a few others, each supporting cast comes through and helps elevate the album. Somebody is a musical journey that showcases Connis’ undeniable talent. On tracks like Lost Touch, Play Fair, and Thinking Everyday, Connis weaves in and out of a relaxed lyrical grace that is nothing short of impressive.

Somebody follows his 2019 debut Conn(is), a body of work so locally renowned in Cambridge that Connis decided to perform it front-to-back with a live band at the city’s popular venue. The emotive expanse that Connis breathes into existence signals a new and shining voice in the world of music discovery, and it is our lucky day to have experienced it.
