DC’s ANKHLEJOHN has been releasing gem after gem this year. His latest ‘As Above So Below‘ was Ankhlejohn’s fifth project of 2020 project and his second full-length after the excellent April-release The Face Of Jason.
‘As Above So Below‘ is produced in its entirety by rapper/producer Navy Blue and features Da$h, Al Divino, Fly Anakon, WiFi Gawd, Pink Siifu, Wiki, and Navy Blue. Blue’s instrumentals bring out Ankhlejohn’s best on the project. The DC heavyweight’s confrontational and chaotic style catches one’s attention and wrestling with it to the point that you can’t help but listen.
The full-length album is another shakeup, somewhat of a return to an older and more traditional hip-hop sound. What this results in is ANKHLEJOHN’s best and most fleshed-out project to date, drawing upon the strengths of the melancholy and sample-driven format.
