Instead of conforming to trends or fleeting fads, Ducee’ DropTop confidently paves his own path. Whether it’s the soothing, hushed tones of “Right Now” or his latest single, “City On fire,” Ducee’ distinguishes himself as an artist who creates ripples rather than being swayed by the ever-changing tide.
“City On Fire,” in particular, is a track that wastes no time distinguishing itself from anything out there. With crisp production, the record is carried largely by Ducee’s distinctive delivery. Every moment of the standout track exudes an impossible-to-ignore bravado.
“This single reflects my growth as a human. With me maturing and all the experiences I experience, I put into my music. I talk about stuff I encounter or things that happen to me and how I feel about them,” shares Ducee’ about the new single. And while it’s easy to lose the messaging behind a track that leaves such a strong impact from the outset, at its core, “City On Fire” is a response to massive upheaval in Ducee’s life.
The accompanying music video is brilliantly shot, showcasing his creativity and vision. “I didn’t want to do exactly what you would think of when you hear the song. My videographer Sean Stanley and I were thinking, when you first hear of a song, you think of dance scenes or a club-type vibe, but we came up with ideas and decided to shoot everything on a green screen,” Ducee’ shared about the video’s creation. “I feel like visuals play a big part in my artistic vision because they bring the song to life and give people a sense of who they are listening to.” The music video, with its imaginative use of green screen, provides a captivating experience for viewers. It helps add depth and dimension to the song.
Overall, “City On Fire” speaks for itself, and as he continues to rack up an impressive amount of attention for his previous releases, Ducee’ DropTop is an artist to keep an eye out for. With more music slated to drop, you will want to keep him on your radar.
