Jay Americana Reinvents His Sound on ‘Even Stars Burn Out’

On his latest project and first body of work in 3 years, independent artist Jay Americana embraces many sounds on ‘Even Stars Burn Out.’ Previous singles ‘Idle Hands‘ and ‘Elevator‘ explored post-punk and house elements, while the EP cuts reflect an even more colorful spectrum. Early standouts include ‘The Fever,’ an indie-pop banger produced by JBC, and the synth-driven ‘Vice‘ produced by DvDx.

Speaking on the release, Jay had this to share:

“Before I started writing and recording, I took a long break from music, and I genuinely thought I was done with it. It turns out that feeling was representative of more significant issues. I started going to therapy for the first time and confronting my anxiety and depression in that time off. My therapist asked what brought me happiness, and I realized how much creating and sharing music provided me with joy. Making this EP was catharsis in a way and gave me the reboot I needed.”

At 6-songs in length, ‘Even Stars Burn Out‘ is a powerful and masterfully crafted EP showcasing one of Atlanta’s most promising up-and-coming stars. Jay Americana’s incredible vocal performance, paired with his genre-mixing of R&B, ambient, and indie-pop, makes every moment on the EP feel like an artist coming into his own.
