LA-Based Pastel Papi Delivers His Debut Project ‘Maybe Tomorrow’

25-year-old LA-based artist Pastel Papi delivers his debut project ‘Maybe Tomorrow.’ At 5-songs in length, the project spans 12-minutes in streaming and is a great introduction to Pastel’s sound and artistic prowess. With features from Gwapmane, ANIA, and Chrxstal Sarah, Pastel’s sound sets him apart from his hometown’s music culture. Seeing as though he’s not only a rapper, but a singer, producer, and engineer.

“The video is about my perspective of the lifestyles I’ve seen growing up in LA. From seeing my friends go from kids to soldiers to angels, or seeing women I used to love on drugs. LA is a hard place to keep your halo, but it’s kinda just life at this point.” – Pastel Papi

His ability to blend hip-hop, pop, R&B, and the occasional trap tones, are uniquely blended to create a genre of music which can be contributed to ‘trap-pop.’ When asked how the project came together, Pastel had this to say via email to SL: “It started with just making a bunch of songs with my producer Gwapmane, then we realized the songs we were making had two distinct vibes. A day and a night side (dropping later), and then I wrote a little script to start visualizing how I wanted it to flow and the visuals.”

With more content on the way from the project, Pastel shared with us that he’s working on rolling out a short film. Check out the new project down below and let us know what you think in the comments.
