Lango Continues to Carve Out His Own Lane with New Project ‘Wikk Tapes’

Whether you’ve been under a rock or placed in government-mandated quarantine doesn’t matter, Lango is back. It has been 2 years since his thrilling tape Warthog and fans worldwide have been anticipating another project from the Baton Rouge native. Lango delivers in a big way with Wikk Tapes. Coming in at 12-tracks, the project covers the effects of success vs failure, finding love in the wrong places, defeating your past self to evolve into your true self, and how to be someone that impacts their community.

The opening track, a hypersonic rager anthem titled Universal Wikk, immediately puts the listener courtside to Lango’s legendary exhibition. Lango’s star power continues to shine with tracks like Moonwalkerz, Back Outside, and Obvious, the last which comes with an incredible show-stopping feature from Three65. Lango doesn’t look for handouts or co-signs, he rolls up his sleeves & creates something from nothing. Working with long-time collaborators like Worldwide Tak, Three65, Matt Hue, while bringing in new sounds from Rane, Perryvsthewrld, Arixs, and Skaiwater, blends a project that many will hail as the album of the summer. With shows and festivals opening their doors, it’s a wise bet to make sure your first show back is a Lango show. Lango is here to stay because his sound isn’t microwaved, it’s been oven-baked and the fans can’t be more excited.

Overall, Wikk Tapes is a superb, focused release from Lango. He comes through with a versatile project that has something for everyone, while completely being himself. Check out the new project down below via Spotify and head over here for your preferred streaming service.
