Lundii’s “In Spite Of…” Is a Sublime R&B Escape

Bringing you captivating, melodic sounds is the shy, soft-spoken Norfolk, Virginia native Nic Lundy—better known as Lundii. The 27-year-old artist’s new EP “In Spite Of…” proves he has a bright future. At a runtime of 15-minutes, the 5-track offering evokes a variety of emotions from listeners.

    Lundii exclusively shared with Swidlife:

“Although I’ve released music before, I’d consider this my most complete body of work thus far. The ultimate goal with “In Spite Of…” was to have the listener take a step into my world, my life, and my head and connect with the emotions I’ve felt in certain life experiences. I feel that there is truly something for everyone on this project, and it sets the stage for what’s next. So enjoy this, but make sure you’re ready because I will be here for a while!”

Through the EP, Lundii offers a layered insight into his love life, vices, and more. The project opens with a melodic record titled “Over Again” that creates an ambiance for the project and invites listeners to explore their own interpretations. Transitioning into the second song, the project’s lead single “So Gone,” takes listeners on a journey through Lundii’s raw emotions as he exposes his own vulnerability in his love life with lyrics like, “I never thought I’d be enough for you/my heart is out but it feels too taboo,” leading into the pre-chorus. “So Gone” sets the stage for the third track “Don’t Want U To Leave,” and the fourth soulful record “Granted.” Closing out the project, Lundii speeds up the tempo with “Baptized,” a sensual cut about how he can meet the needs of whichever woman he chooses.

Lundii is a budding artist with promise for a meteoric rise, and “In Spite Of…” further proves that statement. The EP exists as the perfect opportunity to become an early fan of one of R&B’s most promising rising stars.
