As summer wraps up and we transition into fall, it’s only right that the new music reflects that change. There’s no better way to usher in fall than a calming single from ATL’s Marco Plus, “Real Deal Playa.” This is his fourth release of the year, following “Solace,” which dropped just a few months ago. Building off the summer hype, Marco Plus is letting his new material remind listeners his time is now.
If there was any doubt that the next generation wasn’t ready to receive the torch, Marco consistently puts that fallacy to sleep every time he drops. After recently earning a co-sign from Smino & even before from J.I.D., the writing is on the wall for his future. “Real Deal Playa” doubles down on his untapped potential as it is one of his most powerful tracks yet.
When it comes to replay value for “Real Deal Playa,” it’s extremely high. That can be directly attributed to the introspection and sheer confidence that Marco Plus incorporates into his lyrics. Usually, conscious rap gets a bad reputation for not having replay value, but that isn’t the case for this single. With every re-listen, there seems to be a new revelation regarding where Marco sees himself in the pecking order.
"Cus when it comes to rappin, I kinda think I'm the best at it, A specialist, slow flows, I gotta be on the special list." - Marco Plus raps on "Real Deal Playa"
Even though Marco Plus wouldn’t necessarily be considered a fresh face in rap, he possesses the hunger as if he were. His aspiration to crack into the mainstream is a motivational story, that Swidlife has been documenting for the last few years. With even more music in store for the future, time will tell that Marco Plus is exactly who we’ve been saying who he is; a star.
