Philadelphia’s NxG Finds Balance in “Equilibrium”

NxG sounds recharged, and it is reflected in this project.

Philadelphia-based rapper NxG has shown time after time that he’s constantly evolving as an artist. Never lacking in the energy department, he is one of those artists that has a memorable sound that you’ll never forget. Just like most rising artists, he had to find balance in his life to consistently be able to lock in and still make quality music. Always striving for excellence, his newest release, “Equilibrium,” might be the closest he’s gotten yet.

“‘Equilibrium’ is about finding balance. I wanted to document how things were going for me after ‘Outta Here Soon’—the positives and negatives.” – NxG

It’s exciting to see NxG approach this project with a different mindset. At nine songs in length and a runtime of 20-minutes, this project doesn’t need filler to prove a point. His flow reached new highs, and his vocals show he’s comfortably in his element. From the start with the intro, “Fell in Luv,” we see him do unique things with his vocals as he discusses going through the motions. He even recruits fellow underground star, Iayze for his single, “Next Up.” These two sound great on the same track because they possess the same hunger and work ethic to reach the top. The standout track to me is the song, “Yeah Yeah.” This feel-good song will instantly make you feel on top of the world as NxG pops his shit and slides over the island-influenced trap production.

NxG sounds recharged, and it is reflected in this project. I certainly recommend this project to potential listeners—stream “Equilibrium” below.
