Previously released tracks like “Hero” and “Bad Guy” didn’t make the final track list, but “Better Days,” the lead single off the album set much of the ground work. Produced by Lil Stack, the track does a nice job of providing the listeners with a welcoming sounds that takes them on a sonic journey throughout the body of work. Much of the project is consisted of a monotonic sound, which in terms creates little room for error.
Surf causally came through on this one and dropped gems throughout the entire track list, leaving a strong impression on not only me but the rest of his many listeners. Having spent the last year and a half refining his sound, the production on this tape was extremely consistent all the way through, and Surf took advantage of that as he picked the pockets of each of the provided beats perfectly. At face value, the album is a collection of bangers that any listener can rock with, but further, it’s a captivating account of the life that the rising star has lived to tell the tale.
