Rising Atlanta artist SwaVay has announced his signing with Def Jam Recordings through Giant Music with the release of his new single, ‘JUGG.’ Around the mid-2010s, a new cultural trend started to catch fire: the word “jug.” The city of origin is Atlanta, and jugging could be defined as “blatantly getting over on someone” or, simply put—the art of finesse. SwaVay has refreshed our memories of the term and his theatrical return in his new single ‘JUGG.’
Going broke is not an option for SwaVay, not now, tomorrow, or ever. As fearless as they come, his implementation of an array of sounds and his melodic voice create a dynamic yet cohesive offering every time. With ‘JUGG,’ SwaVay delivers a stoic performance with a sermon-like testimonial. The production alone could get you hype enough to run through a wall, but SwaVay brings it all home with his flow, and they combine to make a must-add to your playlist.
The only thing better than a good song is a good video to go along with it. In a time when content is king and artists are giving more and more of themselves, it’s a blessing to get the visual to accompany the audio. The Bobby Lee Palmer-directed video hit the vibe right on the head and brought SwaVay’s lyrics right off the page to enhance every moment of the song. Check out the new video below and keep SwaVay on your radar as his forthcoming project, ‘Almetha’s Son’ is set to be announced soon.
