In 2019, we uncovered the artistic direction surrounded by IIIDAZE’s single ‘Say So.’ Since then, the group has split, but lead vocalist Boris the Lucid remains prominent in the music game. Since 2019, he has released a string of interstellar tunes fit for the extraterrestrial beings that perhaps surround our atmosphere.
His latest feature in the EP ‘Lovelorn‘ reminds listeners of his ethereal vocals that enhance any genre, whether pop, R&B, or Hip-Hop. ‘Lovelorn‘ features tasteful beats from DMV producer Ryan Celsius Sounds and non-stop flow from Virginia 757 artist FULMETALPARKA$. It’s a two-pack piece that strikes a punch. Boris’ vocals float above hi-hats and fun acoustic chords that smile back at you in ‘At What Cost?’ while the same hi-hat is slowed down in ‘Wanna Know.’
‘I Will’ is another April release from the Virginia native and a red light special for sure, as reflected by the glowing cover art. Sublime synths create an underwater experience courtesy of Boris’ lower-pitched croons that could gently touch souls. Falsetto notes usher in a whining synth for a trip around the sun before a UK garage beat barely fades in to switch the flow.
“I don’t wanna run backwards but for you I will”
Boris gives an unforgettable experience rather than just a song with no replay value. It’s a sensual understanding between artist and listener. Check out his latest drop, ‘Lovelorn‘ EP.
